How it works

Pastelito sourdough bread can take up to 20 hours to make, compared to 30-60 mins for a supermarket loaf. Our ingredients are of high quality and our loaves are hand-shaped and mindfully made. By becoming a member of our Pastelito Bread Club you are:

  • Living a healthier lifestyle – our sourdough is made with ingredients that are easy to understand and that allow you to replace your regular carbs with a healthier and more nutritious option
  • Supporting a small, local business – Our business is supported by you, our neighbors in Norco and the surrounding cities. Without your support we would not be able to be here today.

In our process, we also do our best to support our local Norco farmers by sourcing many ingredients used in our breads and other sourdough products.
  • Helping reduce waste – Most of the waste we produce during our process is compostable. We use the black organic material from our compost in our own garden.
  • Saving time – Once you order, all you have to do is pick up your goodies. You get to skip over the long process of making sourdough and other treats and just enjoy them.

You have three subscription options: weekly, biweekly or monthly.

Our prices reflect the high-quality ingredients and labor process that go into making our sourdough bread and sourdough products. Since our products are not mass-produced, they offer more nutrients, fiber and vitamins not found in supermarket carbs.

Nutrition

Why know that when we talk about bread, the word “healthy” does not usually come with it. But we approach bread making differently. All our bread and other products are made with organic ingredients and without preservatives. Sourdough is known for its fermentation process, which creates lactic acid and prebiotics. This helps you absorb more nutrients than if you were to eat regular bread.

We use unbleached, non-GM and organic flours, seeds and grains. However, due to supply chain reasons, sometimes we’re unable to rely on organic ingredients for some of our products.

Our sourdough breads are vegan, but some of our other products are not. Our products are not gluten free because the fermentation process does not digest all of the gluten in the bread. Some people with gluten sensitivity find that they can digest and enjoy sourdough bread, but we recommend checking with your doctors first.

All of our products are prepared in a facility that uses milk, eggs and nuts. We don’t recommend ordering our products if you have severe food allergies.
